We love a good party and will take just about any excuse to dress up, so when we saw this gorgeous Gatsby-inspired birthday celebration we knew it was right up our alley 🙂 Laisha’s party was held at Chicago’s DL Loft for an intimate group of 50 guests. The event planner, Nicole Marie Events, wanted to create an environment that felt uniquely inspired by The Great Gatsby, incorporating shades of off-white and muted tones of gold. They chose this location because it was the perfect curated event studio that only needed personal touches. It gave you the intimate feeling of being at someones home, like parties that were thrown in the 1920’s. The flavor of choice for this Great Gatsby inspired cake was a decadent, moist Red Velvet cake filled with a Rich Vanilla white chocolate mousse and iced with a delicious Swiss meringue, made by Cake Life Chicago. Laisha’s stunning gown has handmade by Suzette Opara of 828 Collection. The birthday girl wanted to feel regal, and she absolutely looked the paert. Laisha’s advice to other women planning their birthday party? “Have fun! Plan for what appeases the heart, what makes you smile. I’ve always had a thing for ‘The Great Gatsby,’ from the decor to the costumes….I’ve always been a die-hard fan. What better way to celebrate a milestone birthday.
