Perfete Trend: Citrus Party Decor Ideas for your Summer Soiree

Brianna Kozlarek / Friday June 21, 2019

Happy Friday! It’s officially summer, and there’s nothing more we love than a killer summer party. Warm air, patios, balconies, backyards, rooftops – you name it, we’re there. There’s a few key things that make a summer soiree a success. Good music, a good guest list, good lighting and of course, some cute decor. Right now we’re absolutely obsessed with all things citrus. From drinks, to apps, to straight up using lemons as decor, we’re into it. Here’s a few fun ideas on how to incorporate it, and some inspo to pin for your next party!

Citrus Centerpieces. “You don’t have to live in the Sunshine State to have a homegrown citrus tree! Dwarf varieties, like this Dwarf Genoa Italian Lemon Citrus Tree, thrive in a large container placed in full sun. And what better centerpiece to a citrus-themed party than an actual citrus tree? Place these miniature ones on your party tables and they’ll be a delightful conversation piece (and high enough to encourage those cross-table convos!).” – Jenna Miller, Creative Director, Here Comes the Guide

Juiced-up Décor. “Lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruits are vibrantly colored and fairly round—making a citrus-inspired balloon installation a fitting backdrop for your summer soirée. You’ll need bright yellow, green, orange, and pale pink balloons along with green leaves—these can be real, silk, or even paper! Intersperse the leaves between the balloon clusters for a fabulously fruity look.” – Jenna Miller, Creative Director, Here Comes the Guide

Citrus-y Libations. “Of course you’ll want to offer fresh-squeezed orange juice or lemonade (with champagne, perhaps?) but spa water is another on-theme option. Fill glass beverage dispensers with filtered water, lemon and lime slices, and some sprigs of fresh mint—a surefire way to keep your guests deliciously hydrated.” – Jenna Miller, Creative Director, Here Comes the Guide

Fresh Favors. “Your guests will appreciate a party favor with a little zest, and the citrus-themed options are endless! Make a big batch of lemon or key lime bars for guests to grab on their way out. We also love the idea of gifting mini bottles of Limoncello or jars of orange marmalade. And of course, glassine bags filled with sugar-dusted “fruit slice” candies or chocolate-dipped orange slices would be much appreciated by any kiddos in attendance!” – Jenna Miller, Creative Director, Here Comes the Guide

Escort Cards. “Citrus is always a fun way to add a pop of color in a unique way. It can be integrated into tablescapes or used for additional decor ideas like escort cards.” – Jennifer Williger of HoneyFitz Events

Swing from the chandeliers. “Citrus fruits are the perfect element for brightening up an open space! What better way to incorporate them than with crafted dried citrus chandeliers?! They will be sure to had a splash of color to any blank canvas and offer up a stop-and-stare moment to your next soiree!” – Be Inspired PR
