10 shows to Binge on Netflix this Weekend

Brianna Kozlarek / Thursday March 14, 2019

There’s nothing better than being hooked on a new show. You come home, pour that glass of red, and settle in for a few undisturbed hours where you cannot WAIT to see what happens next. The unfortunate part? When you binge so hard you finish in like a day, and you’re left with the dilemma: what to watch next? Girl, we’ve got you. The weather sucks, so we highly encourage putting on your comfiest PJ’s, setting in with Ben & Jerry and breezing through one of these highly addictive new shows currently streaming on Netflix:

1.) Working Moms

Y’all I binged this show in one day! Someone was clearly watching my life and recording it for their TV show. Workin Moms is hilarious and painfully honest. As a “working mom” myself, I found it spot on and comforting to know that other women out there share the same feelings and experience I have. It is a fun watch for anyone  so queue it up asap! – Kunbi

2.) Queer Eye

Be still my heart. I binged the first two seasons of this heartwarming, beautiful show this summer following a particularly lame dental surgery. It truly brought me back to life. Season 3 premieres March 15, so catch up on seasons 1 and 2 now.

3.) Derry Girls

If you’re Irish and slightly biased raise your hand! Seriously though, this show is super hilarious. It takes place in Derry, Ireland and perfectly captures the awkwardness of being a teenage girl. Each ep is only 20 minutes so it’s not a huge commitment either. – Brianna

4.) Abducted in Plain Sight

Ugh. Guys. This documentary. If you’re in the mood to scream at your TV in disbelief, check it out. Viewer warning: This contains some seriously dark and disturbing content. Watch with caution.

5.) You

Dan Humphrey is a creeeeeeep. Addictive, quick to watch, and will make you order curtains ASAP.

5.) Friends from College

This one met mixed reviews on Twitter ( yes, I rely on Twitter for my show recs, deal with it!). Friends from College follows a group of college friends in their forties. I guarantee you that you’ll recognize some of your college friends in these people. I for one found it hilarious and cringeworthy.

6.) Sex Education

Must watch. Right now. GO! Sex Education is about socially awkward high-schooler Otis who has zero experience in the sex department even though he’s the son of a sex therapist. It’s funny and brilliantly delivered. I really need more people to watch it so I can have someone to discuss with. I have a super girl-crush on Otis’ mum.

7.) Fyre Festival

Remember that crap fest of a festival that never happened? Yeah, it’s time to discuss the infamous FYRE festival. This is so shocking and will make you TripAdvisor the hell out of any future vacays. There’s a documentary of this on Hulu as well, but the Netflix version has that old guy willing to do ANYTHING for water, so we pick this one.

8.) Black Mirror – Bandersnatch

The future is here my friends. This is a super fun (but like, super dark) choose your own adventure. Guaranteed you’ve never seen anything like this. Crack your knuckles and check it out.

9.) Tidying up with Marie Kondo

Where are my Type A ladies at? If you get turned on by cleaning (hi, me too) then you’re gonna love this. A total slob and looking for a place to start? Also v helpful.

10.) Umbrella Academy

I actually haven’t seen this yet but plan to catch up on it once I’m done with Sex Education.  The Umbrella Academy is a comic book based show about a dysfunctional family of adopted sibling superheroes who reunite to solve the mystery of their father’s death, and the threat of an impending apocalypse. It’s giving me X-men meets The Royal Tenenbaums.

Let us know which ones you go with and feel free to share more recommendations down in the comments. There’s always room for more binging!
