Black and Berry Styled Shoot at the Goodstone Inn

Brianna Kozlarek / Tuesday December 19, 2017

As much as we love pinks and creams, there’s nothing like a dark and moody shoot that gets our inspiration going. Something about the dark, rich colors feels extra luxurious. We loved today’s styled shoot from the second we saw it. “For this wedding inspiration the team of vendors and I were inspired by creative, offbeat brides who were willing to make bold choices (like wear a black wedding dress), but also still wanted the romantic touch of pinks and golds,” said Maddy of Maddy Williams Photography . “We choose Goodstone Inn, tucked in the countryside outside of Washington D.C., as our backdrop for it’s gorgeous ivy walls and open fields. Despite the moodiness we wanted to emphasize flowers– in particular the cafe au lait dahlias that took center stage. They were repeated in our bouquet and table pieces, the wax seal on our invitation suite and stamped in gold on the wedding cake. We blended vintage furniture, lush florals, handmade pottery and lots of sweets to create inspiration that was fierce, feminine and fun for out of the box brides with attention to detail.”
