Gorgeous Outdoor Fall Wedding in Austin, Texas

Brianna Kozlarek / Thursday August 31, 2017

We’ve got back to back weddings this week, and our feature today is just lovely. Angela and Christian had such a warm and beautiful outdoor Fall wedding in Texas. “As a girl, I always knew I would get married in my favorite season of the year, Fall,” said Angela. “We then began to search for a location for our wedding, at the time Christian and I were both living in McAllen,TX. We immediately knew that although weddings were nice and elegant, they all seemed the same. We wanted something different, something fun, laid back and most importantly intimate. Where else can you have a laid back, fun, non-traditional, wedding but in the Capital of Texas where the slogan is Keep Austin Weird.” George Street Photo & Video captured their beautiful wedding day:

The Ceremony

“The indoor/outdoor hilltop setting was the perfect backdrop for our special day. As Mexicans, we knew we wanted to have a traditional not so traditional Mexican wedding. We had our spiritual ceremony outside followed by cocktail hour on the hilltop with lawn games, hors d’ oeuvres, and beer burros, which were a sensation. Every time I think of our wedding I get teary eyed. It was just as we envisioned down to the smallest detail. It was like a whirlwind, one second we are saying I Do the next we are getting down on the dance floor and the next it’s over and we are going through a bridge of sparklers down to our getaway car.”

The Reception

“The reception was held inside our venue which gave the whole wedding a chic country vibe. Our color scheme was selected to accentuate my emerald ring, we wanted to incorporate emerald without it overpowering. We went with burgundy, variations of soft delicate pink tones, gold, camel, and Emerald. The cake was one of the hardest things to find.  We wanted a show stopper, and once we found Cake Rocks we instantly knew Christy the owner/baker/artist had the same vision we did. We decided that the geode would be of course emerald green.”

“We danced all night long with family and friends, we had the Mexican traditional vivora de la mar which included taking a shot of tequila from a massive tequila bottle, throwing of the bouquet, throwing of the garter and of course like any great Mexican wedding we conga lined carnival style with balloons, crazy hats and stilt walkers . Finally, as the clock struck twelve we ran down to our getaway car and waved everyone goodbye as we drove off from our dream come true.”

Angela’s advice to future brides? “Get a wedding planner or someone that has extra time off to figure out the details. We did not get a planner and went crazy in the final 2-3 month. The venue we chose helped us tremendously with overall planning, timelines, and day of coordinating. But really if you have it in your budget don’t try to be a hero and just hire someone especially if you are having an out of town wedding like we did. Your lives will be so much easier.”
