Traditional Maryland Wedding at Historic Mansion

Brianna Kozlarek / Friday February 24, 2017

Happy Friday loves! We’ve got such a beautiful wedding to end the week with. Megan and Erik met outside a club in Philly, connected on MySpace and had the cutest proposal on Mother’s Day: “I was pregnant with our daughter,” said Megan. “We were getting ready for church, and he kept bringing me pieces of my cheap costume jewelry as suggestions of what I could wear to church. After several times of me turning his suggestions away, he came back with my engagement ring. My hormones got the best of me, and I swear I cried ALL day!” Their gorgeous wedding The Historic Waverly Mansion was coordinated by Ivori Nicole Events and photographed by our very own #PrettyPerfectPartner Terri Baskin:

The Ceremony

My favorite DIY detail was our Welcome sign,” said Megan. “I took a gold frame, removed the glass and replaced it with mirror that I got cut to size at Lowe’s. My friend wrote in calligraphy ‘Welcome to the Wedding of Megan & Erik.’ One of my favorite moments was making it to the end of the aisle and taking everything in. I became so overwhelmed with happiness to see that everything I imagined came into fruition. It was worth all of my stress and anxiety to see that everything came together so beautifully and that fact that our daughter was able to be a part of it.”

The Reception

One of my favorite wedding day details was the warm apple cider,” said Megan. “I, as well as my guests, thought it was the perfect little touch to a fall evening wedding to warm people up during the cocktail hour since the ceremony and cocktail hour were outside.” Megan’s advice for future brides? “RELAX. Everything goes by so quickly so take it all in. HAVE FUN and be yourselves! Our guests really enjoyed themselves and I think the main reason why is because we enjoyed ourselves. Another big tip…DELEGATE! You can’t do it all, so use all of the resources available to you whether it be your bridesmaids, your planner, or close friend. More people are willing to help than you think.”
