New Colors for 2015 Grooms

When it comes to wedding fashion, it’s all about The Dress. Traditionally it’s the bride’s day, and she should be the center of attention. However, more and more grooms are getting involved with crafting their own unique wedding day looks. If you’re lucky enough to have a guy who wants to take the lead, let him go for it! Grooms of the 2015 wedding season are going to have a lot more color options than just go-to black and gray.

It’s no surprise Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year, Marsala has quickly become a favorite. We’re loving the look of this rich hue on grooms, especially for January and February weddings. Marsala‘s darker sister, burgundy, is just as lush and romantic, and a great pick for those fall and winter weddings, too!

Light gray and khaki are popular tux options for guys getting married in spring and summer, but can be harder to pair with your wedding colors. Try a more saturated shade like taupe, which also tends to be more flattering on a variety of skin tones. A taupe suit or tux looks so fresh with a blush tie and pocket square, or peach accessories.

Navy blue tuxedos have been an increasingly popular pick for grooms and groomsmen the past few seasons, and this trend isn’t going anywhere soon. Try an even darker shade like midnight blue with a lustrous satin lapel to take navy from nautical to black tie. We see this sleek look working with weddings in any season, since bright accents like magenta make it more summery.

The next suit staple for those fall and winter weddings is definitely forest green. Whether you want a rustic or industrial style wedding, this deep hue is a winner. Bridesmaids in mint dresses would create a stunning and earthy palette against guys in dark green. White rose boutonnieres would really pop against this stunning color.

With all of the sleek bridal gowns we’re seeing for the 2015 wedding season, there’s plenty of room to let your guy craft a look that stands out. Grooms should get some options, too and these colors really add to the overall vibe of your wedding. You may even consider creating your whole wedding palette around the groom’s ensemble! These rich colors are a modern and more personal alternative to the traditional black tuxedo that are sure to add more warmth and style to your wedding photos.
