It doesn’t get better than this adorable Salt Lake City affair by Pepper Nix Photography. Stefani and Braedon said I do at the prestigious Salt Lake Temple in Utah. I have to say I loooove the spirituality of mormon weddings. Their unions are so sacred that cameras aren’t allowed inside the temple for the sealing (solemnization) ceremony. How powerful is that? Anyway, the couple followed their ceremony with a beautiful reception at Tuscany Restaurant in Salt Lake City. Prettiness! We included the couple’s sweet love story as well so enjoy!
How They Met
Braedon and I went to the same high school but didn’t know each other. We met bowling with a group of mutual friends and I bowled 5 strikes in a row ( I suppose I was trying to impress him, haven’t been able to repeat it!). He was recently returned from his mission (Cambodia) and totally did not get the hint that I was flirting. I couldn’t stop thinking about how cute he was so I made the first move and wrote a cheesy post on his facebook about how we needed a bowling rematch. He still did not get the hint!! I could tell he really was just clueless and ended up telling one of his friends that I thought Braedon was cute, but “not to tell Braedon” (fully knowing that was what would happen). Braedon claims to have no clue I was dropping hints, and that hearing from his friend that I was into him was the first hint! We went on our first date, spent almost a month apart while he revisited Cambodia and I served a humanitarian aid trip to India, and once we both got home we knew we wanted to date each other exclusively!
Inspiration: I knew I wanted something timeless and feminine so I went with a rosy pink, cremes, whites, and beiges. My dress was a huge inspiration. It was the most important part of the decor to me and everything else had to work with the dress. It was a little unconventional in that it wasn’t a stark white, in fact it was very champagne, but I just couldn’t stop thinking about it after we left the store.
Favorite Memory:
The best part of the day was the sealing. The ceremony was beautiful and the look on Braedon’s face will last with me forever. It may sound cheesy, but we both felt like the love was unconditional and we were the happiest we’d ever been.
