Yellow and Grey Colorado Wedding

Kunbi O / Wednesday April 9, 2014
Hello Yellow! Brittany and Nico got married in a vibrant yellow affair at the Trading Post at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado followed by a reception at the Tivoli Student Union in Denver. The couple went for the classic mix of yellow and grey throughout their whole wedding which worked perfectly. Everything from the breathtaking landscape to the stylish bridal party and adorable handmade details made for a truly aisle perfect wedding. We can’t get enough! Thanks to Urban Safari Photography for sharing this beauty with us.

From the Bride:

One of my favorite parts about our wedding was seeing all the details come together. You put so much thought and work into how you want everything to look and it really only exists in your head until the big day. Many of the details were homemade and our family and friends helped by coming to “craft days”. During the reception, they actually admited that they thought that some of my ideas were crazy and that they were going to look awful but were surprised and loved how well everything came together. I have my mom to thank for seeing my vision and helping make it come to life. Urban Safari Photography captured everything so perfectly and I love being able to relive our wedding day through each picture!

The Reception
Guests dined on catering provided by Relish Catering and cupcakes from a friend of the bride. Hula hoops, cornhole (crafted by a groomsman), giant Jenga (made by the Father of the Bride) and a photobooth were available to keep the party going.
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side? Don’t be afraid to ask friends, family, coworkers for recommendations. They may know someone that knows someone that can provide something for your wedding at a lower price or for free!
What was your biggest splurge? Food! Our biggest splurge was definitely the food. We love food and upgraded in some areas (fish, handmade pasta, etc.) which increased the price, but Relish Catering was still priced below other vendors.
What was your favorite detail? I can’t pick just one. One of my favorite parts about our wedding was seeing all the details come together. You put so much thought and work into how you want everything to look and it really only exists in your head until the big day. I have my mom to thank for seeing my vision and helping make it come to life. Urban Safari Photography captured everything so perfectly and I love being able to relive our wedding day through each picture!
What is the most memorable moment of your day? My mom’s excitement after the first dance. We took dance lessons and didn’t tell anyone. I think my mom thought she knew every part of the wedding, so it was fun to surprise her with our dance skills.
