Lavender and Grey Civic Center Wedding

Kunbi O / Sunday November 3, 2013

Full disclosure- I am completely biased about this wedding. With that in mind, I challenge you to show me a prettier bride than the one you are about to see. Nneka and Agu’s big day was everything and more. What is even more amazing about this wedding is that it was successfully planned and executed in a matter of months- FIVE MONTHS to be exact! As a woman obsessed with details, I cant begin to imagine planning a wedding in such a time frame-I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about it. It all goes to show that after the fuss and frills, all that really matters is that you’re marrying your best friend.  That being said, Agu and Nneka’s big day was not only gorgeous but Aisle Perfect. Enjoy!

From the Bride:

My vision for my day was fresh and clean. I wanted fresh flowers with lots of calla lilies, roses, floating petals and greenery. I was a very laid back bride and wanted the wedding to  be just that- effortless. I was very happy with how everything turned out.

Favorite Memory: I planned a choreographed dance (with my sisters and chief bridesmaid)  for my husband. It was a surprise so we kept it hush hush, and practiced two nights before the wedding. It was intense and exhilarating at the same time, and my husband and the guests reactions were priceless!

Advice for other Brides:

I was a very laid-back bride, and didn’t let the wedding prep get to me. My mind was practically stuck on our planned honeymoon. I’ve also found that the shorter the planning period, the less stressed and wiped out you get. Wedding planning can be overwhelming, and if you have a lot of time on your hands, you can easily get bogged down by every detail and every ‘to-do’. I remember joining wedding planning sites and seeing that I had 200+ things to do before my wedding, I promptly cancelled my accounts! Lol!! My advice in summary is this; think bigger picture, get an on-the-day coordinator and make sure there is enough food and booze for your guests (guests always seem to remember the food and drinks!), wear the wedding dress of your dreams and take memorable pictures. Finally, please don’t forget the honeymoon, it is critical after all the madness!
