Christal + Martin: Mövenpick Hotel Wedding

Kunbi O / Thursday January 17, 2013
Refreshing… that’s the word that best describes this wedding. You see, it’s so easy to get caught up in the frills- the props, the details.. all of that. At the end of the day ALL that SHOULD matter is that you’re marrying the love of your life. Christal Jeanne and Martin Beeko’s union is a beautiful refresher in what love is really about. High School sweethearts, Christal and Martin were destined to be together despite the miles and miles of distance. Their wedding was truly a celebration of love.
From the Bride:

I wasn’t the kind of girl that had my wedding planned in my head. I had little idea what I wanted and never really thought of the wedding but rather the life after it (e.g. my house, my kids and the traditions I would start with my family). I knew I wanted the experience to be magical, a fairytale where our love for each other would be felt throughout the night. The decor was built around my name so we included a lot of crystal accents. I wanted soft colors and lots of candles and lights.

It was my dream wedding. I was the happiest woman on my day because I had married my best friend, my soul twin and the love of my life!

The Reception…

Advice from the Bride:

Firstly, get an event planner and share all your thoughts with him or her. Then select a friend who can work closely with the wedding planner to remind him/her of your vision when necessary. Secondly, focus on your dress and look for the day. Try on everything and test everything (hair, makeup, nails e.t.c). Make sure your wedding party look very put together because they are a reflection on you. Don’t forget to assign someone to really take care of them. You don’t want the people backing you to be upset with you, after all they’ve got to look good too. I wanted all my girls to look hot! Finally, pray, pray, pray because unexpected things do happen at weddings. Things you cannot even imagine, but if God is by your side nothing will break you.

Planning: I started to over plan at some point. I even had a shower schedule for my 11 girls because I wanted to be done early and allow room for any delays. I had to ease up a little at my over planning here and there but it paid off.

Groom: Don’t over burden the groom with wedding stuff. My hubby and I had a huge fight when I was looking for my second dress because it’s not for guys to be driving you everywhere in NY when u can’t decide! Just try and keep them out of certain parts as much as possible.

Parents: No matter how much the parents say don’t involve them, it’s a lie. They want to know.

Have deadlines and meet them.

On your day promise yourself that even if you should trip while walking down the aisle you will get up and walk into your husbands arms because that’s where you belong!

Thank You Martin & Christal Beeko for sharing your AMAZING day with us!
